Why clients choose IUL
Protection with room to grow.
Indexed Universal Life is permanent life insurance with a cash value that can grow with a market index, while your death benefit protects the people who count on you.
- 1. Index caps, participation rates and policy charges still apply and can reduce cash value.
- 2. Policy loans reduce cash value and the death benefit, accrue interest, and may be taxable if the policy lapses.
- 3. Rider availability and terms vary by carrier.
An honest fit check
Is IUL right for you?
Often a strong fit if you…
- Want to supplement a 401(k) or IRA you're already funding
- Need permanent coverage that also builds cash value
- Have steady income and a 10+ year time horizon
- Own a business and need succession or key-person planning
Probably not the right fit if you…
- Only need low-cost coverage for a set period. Term life may suit you better
- Can't commit to premiums for several years
- Will need this money within the next few years

Common questions
Questions families ask first.
Straight answers before you ever pick up the phone.
How is IUL different from a 401(k) or Roth IRA?
A 401(k) or IRA is a retirement account. IUL is permanent life insurance whose cash value can grow based on a market index, with a 0% floor on index losses. It is usually used alongside retirement accounts, not instead of them, and it carries insurance costs that retirement accounts do not.
What does an IUL policy cost?
Premiums depend on your age, health, coverage amount and how the policy is funded. Sheba walks you through the full illustration, fees and charges included, before you decide anything.
What happens if I stop paying premiums?
It depends on how much cash value has built up. The policy may continue for a time using that value, or it could lapse. Sheba reviews these scenarios with you up front and at every annual review.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The 30-minute call has no cost and no obligation. If IUL is not right for you, Sheba will tell you and point you to what is.
Do you work with clients outside Michigan?
Sheba is currently licensed in several states, so she can only place policies for all US residents.
